LOOK AT US is a zine by LA based stylist and photographer Gena Tuso. Each issue is a sartorial documentation of underground scenes from LA to London.
As a stylist and musician, Gena has always been inspired by subcultures and references that take into play from the past to the present. The evolution of iconic scenes and how they have evolved aesthetically and socially in today’s current climate.
Over the years of playing music and seeing shows, she has formed many relationships with various artists and musicians now in some of her photographs. Each issue is assigned an artist immersed in a specific scene to cast talent they feel best represent their community. From goths and punks in London cast by Dani Mejia and Parma Ham to BIPOC queer trans artists in LA cast by Jupiter Black, Look.At.Us has produced 6 issues self published.
The most recent issue, Issue 6, features artists in the LA experimental dance and movement scene cast by Aeon Lux. Shot on film, wearing their favorite looks at home and in dance studios across Los Angeles.
OTHER PROJECTS include photo collaborations and creative direction, casting, styling and design for various projects with some of the zine’s favorite artists, publications and brands.
